Rentokil Singapore launched the Rentokil Termite Management System (RTMS) in May 2009, with the intention of making its existing termite inspection services more complete and accurate. RTMS is a four-step termite inspection procedure which includes termite data reporting, thermal imaging on a wide surface, termite detection on a targeted surface and targeted tracking on a specific location.

Many people are unaware of the drastic consequences of having termites in their midst. It is not uncommon for people to only discover the presence of termites when their furniture and belongings start to fall apart. Contrary to beliefs, termites do not just eat wood, they will consume anything that contains cellulose. However, there are signs which one can look out for to detect the presence of termite activity: Mud shelter tubes, swarmers, dead/eaten wood.

If you think you have a termite situation at home but require further confirmation, do seek help from a professional pest controller for verification. Remember, if you can't see termites, it doesn't mean they don't exist!
